14 April 2009 – Helvetia, a Swiss Insurance Company, has been nominated for Kuppinger Cole's European Identity Award. This award is part of the European Identity Conference (EIC) 2009, which is held on 5-8 May, 2009.

Helvetia independently implemented new authorization request and approval processes as part of its existing workflow services. The implementation took place at the end of 2008.

Based on its Lotus Notes platform, Helvetia offers a set of services to its user community to order and approve business materials of all sorts. It made sense to include roles in the workflow services, Helvetia therefore integrated its Lotus Notes Workflow with the BHOLD Administration making use of BHOLD's web service interface.

As BHOLD already is Helvetia's leading administration for users and their roles, the web service integration enables Helvetia to continuously offer the correct roles to the correct users through its workflow system. BHOLD handles the user life cycle changes and the resulting impact on available roles for each user; Lotus Notes facilitates the process of role request and approval.

Some project characteristics:

  • All authorizations within Helvetia are managed through 250 roles (no single permissions)
  • 2200 employees are managed through BHOLD
  • Roles are owned by 30 business users
  • Assigning authorizations is done instantly
  • Successful implementation on a per application basis
  • Modeling was done top-down by interviewing the department managers
  • Helvetia has achieved level 4 of the BHOLD maturity model

We look forward to hearing from you.
