February 2010
We are always delighted to have an opportunity to meet and catch up with customers, prospects, partners and suppliers at the events we attend and organize across the globe. Highlights of the last few months included: RSA in San Francisco, eema event in Utrecht and EuroCACS in Budapest.

Below you find a short report of some of the events BHOLD attended:

  • eema workshop at BOLD headquarters: Access Governance
In March, eema and BHOLD organized a workshop in Utrecht on Access Governance. 40 people from across Western Europe joined us for the workshop and to listen to presentations on the developments in access governance, including an insight into the auditor’s perspective and a market view on the healthcare sector on this subject. Representatives from the different groups worked closely together to understand the different business cases behind access governance, the operational consequences and what authorization rules could be implemented. All three groups presented their ideas to each other, which resulted in a lively and educational discussion for all participants. This was especially the case when it came to defining business rules. Participants gained valuable new insights having had the opportunity to ‘workshop’ the topic with ‘external’ people. For everyone who attended this workshop, it became clear that access has to be managed and controlled in an efficient and effective way to achieve regulatory compliance and improved security. BHOLD is a member of eema.

  • EuroCACS: If knowledge is power, how powerful are you?
Over 200 internal and external auditors came to Budapest for the European version of the Computer Audit, Control and Security (CACS) Conference, EuroCACS. Amongst the participants were representatives from the European Central Bank, national banks from many countries in Western Europe, as well as auditors from the leading auditing firms across the globe.
The conference, organized by ISACA, is seen as one of the most important events for IT Audit, Security and Governance professionals to keep up-to-date with changing professional trends. The large majority of the participants showed a growing interest in tooling for controlling authorizations and access governance. During this event, BHOLD officially launched and demonstrated BHOLD Controls for Auditors.

  • RSA Conference
Each year, the RSA Conference plays an integral role in connecting and informing security professionals from across the globe. At the 2010 event, BHOLD was invited by Microsoft to participate in the formal launch of Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) 2010 at the RSA Conference in San Francisco in March. During this conference Microsoft formally introduced its Forefront security line and introduced its main partners - BHOLD being one of them. It was very exciting to be in the front row during the official FIM launch, and we very much enjoyed the opportunity to meet a lot of Microsoft people, consolidate our partnership and put faces to the many names we’ve come to know.

In the coming month we will be in Prague, Schiphol, Vilvoorde, Frankfurt and Bussum. Please do drop by to see us, or join us online for a webcast.

KPMG and Microsoft, supported by BHOLD, are organizing a series of round tables around the Globe on orchestrating identities and access when moving IT assets to the cloud.

Take the opportunity and see BHOLD at Kuppinger & Cole's European Identity Conference which takes place in Munich, Germany May 10-13.
